Christmas Wish List #9: Topshop knitwear

Every Christmas my mum buys me a new knit. This year I am lusting after these knits in Topshop:

And the jumper that I most hoping to find under the Christmas tree this year:

Christmas Wish List #8: stylish books

I love my books and on a cold wintry afternoon I like nothing more than to curl up in front of a log fire with a good book. This year, there are a fair few style books that would look just right on my coffee table, thank you very much:

Christmas Wish List #6: H&M Winter Accessories

We all hope for a White Christmas but it rarely becomes a reality. However, we can all dream of one and what better way than having all of the winter accessories possible... just in case!

Over the years I seem to have acquired a proportionately high number of three quarter sleeve jumpers, cardigans and even coats, therefore wrist warmers, like these from H&M, are a necessity:

Of course, a hat is always useful for the cold months and what better than a cable knit beanie:

This season, it is all about the faux fur. Buy into the trend with this faux fur tube scarf:

Something For The Weekend: Winter Warmers

All I want to do when I wake in the mornings and all I can hear is the wind howling around our apartment building and rattling at the windows, is turn off the alarm and bury back down under the covers and emerge again in the spring. Or at least when the first snow falls and there is something more pretty to get up for! After a week of mornings feeling like this, it is now the weekend and I am at the "in-laws" and I can just crawl back under the covers and lie in for as long as I want, or pull myself from the warmth of my bed to the warmth of the fireside. Either way, I plan to spend the next two days in the comfiest and warmest clothes possible, drink copious amounts of warms drinks and read. Pure luxury.

Speaking of luxury, have you told me yet: How Do You Define Luxury?

It is no coincidence then, given my current state of mind, that the folder on my computer that I inventively named "inspiration" is filled with photos of girls in warm-looking knits:

Sources (and I'm sorry but I can't remember which is which!): The Sartorialist; Face Hunter; and we heart it

It is also probably of no surprise that all I want to buy when I hit the shops at the moment, is cosy knitted things: over-sized cable-knit cardigans from Next; motif sweatshirts from Asos; and this snowflake knit jumper from Topshop. Or that I have been lusting after this gorgeous Ocabini Luxury Cashmere poncho over on Forty Not Out.

I have also decided to try to teach myself to knit. (Please don't laugh, friends and family who know me!!) It is something that I have been keen to try for many a year but this post from PinkBow finally inspired me to make a mad dash to John Lewis on Thursday evening. Franca, of Oranges and Apples and this week's Style Icon Guest Blogger, has also provided inspiration from her entire blog! A scarf has been started.

Meanwhile, these adverts for Micheal Kors:

Have me "dreaming of a White Christmas".

On that note, have you got into the festive spirit yet, with a Red Cup from Starbucks?

Following that same theme, who has started their Christmas shopping yet? And finished it? I have started mine and will - I hope - be finished by the beginning of December. It feels so liberating and allows me to enjoy the real build up to Christmas during advent without the constant worry of having to go inside the heaving shops again. For those stumped for ideas, Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere, has begun her Holiday Gift Guide series and I even been, for a few weeks now, posting a series of Christmas Wish List ideas.

Right, there's a cup of tea with my name on it, waiting for me by the fire and a good book.

Have a happy weekend, whatever you're doing.

Christmas Wish List #5: Next satchels

The geek inside me is currently longing for a satchel to carry all my junk around in. For the past four Christmases, the boyf has bought me a bag in recognition of my obsession with this particular accessory. Maybe this year I can get him to buy me a satchel?

This Animal Print Fabic Satchel from Next reminds me a little of a Mary Poppins carpet bag:

Or, alternatively there is this Chocolate Pleather satchel which also comes in three other colours, tan, black and grey:

Christmas Wish List #4: seasonal slippers

I don't know about you but for me there are certain things that scream "Christmas present" at me and slippers are one of those.

Anyone who reads this blog will know that I am a huge fan of a good pair of slippers (see here and here). So it will come as no surprise that I was overrun with choices for my Christmas Wish List:

How cute are these knitted booties?

Or these bright slippers complete with a pretty cat design?

These EMU slippers are sure to be very warm and snuggly:

These slipper socks add a bit of style to an old classic:

Will you be adding a pair of snuggly slippers to your Christmas wish list this year?

Christmas Wish List #3: Dorothy Perkins Christmas frocks

Being a complete self confessed dress-addict, there is nothing better for Christmas day than a new dress for the occasion:

I hope to be working the camel trend in this simple and smart tunic:

This puff sleeve lace dress would go perfectly with my lovely aviator jacket and thick woolly tights for warm winter chic:

Or what about cosying up in this cable knit jumper dress in front of a log fire on Christmas day:
